Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Transfer-In my own Domain?
You can transfer-in any domain name which has a Top Level Domain in the range in
which we currently operate - this includes .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .com, .net, .org,
.biz, .info, .eu, .uk.com, .eu.com, .gb.com, .gb.net, .uk.net, .tv, .cc, .mobi. There
may be a charge for the transfer - we will reflect the charges made by our Service
Supplier.
Can I buy my Own Domain off someone else?
Yes. You can then either transfer it to us or change the server settings with your
domain-seller and we can take it from there.
Can I Transfer-Out away from you?
Yes. You are free at any time to take your domain. You have paid for it. It is
yours. There is normally no fee associated with transferring-out although your new
Provider may raise a fee to Transfer-In.
Can I have more than 5 email accounts at my domain?
Yes. As many as you like. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we will respond
with a costing. Please remember, we also provide email-forwarding so you effectively
get 10 email addresses “live” at any time. You can also change them at any time.
What’s the difference between your OnePageWeb and your “Brochure” website?
Essentially, there is no difference. The OnePageWeb branding comes from the fact
that it is expected to be a single page on the web and this is reflected in the pricing.
Once this become multi-pages, it is likely to become a “Brochure” site. Our charges
are a reflection of the time and materials we have to put into the design and publishing
of your website, not necessarily the number of pages published.
Why should I consider buying a domain for more than 2 years?
Because some Search Engines will give your site some additional credibility if they
see the domain is going to be there for some time.
Why should I get the .com and the .co.uk?
Many people will enter your domain name directly into their browser and add .co.uk
or .com as they see fit. In order to catch all of those enquires, it is necessary
to get both the .com and the .co.uk domain names. We divert one to the other - you
do NOT need to have 2 websites. Similarly, email gets diverted from one to the other.
If I have both .co.uk and .com, which do I use by default?
If you are UK based and your target prospects are UK-based, you should always use
the .co.uk version and divert the .com to the .co.uk version. If your target prospects
are truly International or American or Irish, then perhaps you should default to
the .com.
What should I do if the .co.uk is available but the .com is already taken?
Pick a new domain. No Brainer. If the .com is gone, forget it. There will be problems
ahead if you have the .co.uk and someone else has the .com, especially if you are
in the same line of business.
I need multiple Domain Names and don’t want to order individually
No problem. Give us a call and submit a listing of your required domain names and
we will look after it for you.
I am a new Start-up Company and I need a Company Name and a Website Name to match
Pick the Domain Names first, with an eye on the names available at Company House
- register the domain names and then register the Company Name. This is much easier
that acquiring a Company Name and then trying to acquire the domains to suit.
My Email address is getting too clogged up with Spam - can I change it?
Yes, of course. You have control of the email package. You can change the bit in
front of the “at” sign any time you like, subject to Fair Use Policy.
